Your imagination is startling, the same sort of style as Hayao Miyazaki. AWESOME interpretation of a mermaid- not generically evil or beautiful, just... existent and captivating. Unlike anything I've seen before, really. There is a science fiction element to this piece, which I love, twinned with a dreamworld haziness, especially in the blur of sand and size of the birds, as well as the solidity of the sandy clouds. The modern building in the background is curious and provocative- where are they; is everything okay? Those are the questions that sprung to mind.
